The truth is that I’ve always wanted to dance ballet when I was a kid. I begged my mother to take me to ballet, but I think there was no classes arranged back then. So I pretty much forgot about it for some years. I started high school, and I really craved for beginning ballet, but was too afraid to make the thought into action. It wasn’t until I saw a notice, that a beginner ballet class was arranged in my hometown when i participated the first time. That was about five years ago.
So why do I love ballet? actually, I do like everything about it. I love the hard work, that it is not easy, I love the typical classical music, the leotards, thights and skirts, I love the french names of all the movements, I love how beautiful it is done correctly, aswell as the beauty of pointe-shoes. Its also really hard muscle work, and requires flexibility. I also love to learn and to perform. No matter if its center or barré work, it’s so much fun. I love the feeling you get when you’re in class doing just a simple plié. I love the challenges of different movements, such as pirouettes and jumps. I love that ballet is versatile.
I think ballet is something I will do for many years to come, since it’s the most pleasant hobby I’ve had in my life. To dance.
